Questions of Existence
[Chapter 1]

The 3 Fundamental Questions of Beingness

Who Am I?
[Identity]

Why Am I Here?
[Purpose]

What Should I Do About All This?
[Intention – Will]

Know Thyself ” – Ancient Greece

The quest to understand who one really is, is probably older than mankind.

Since these questions reach deep into the very core of being, they are at once the starting point and goal of attainment of the journey into Knowledge, Truth and Wisdom.

To ignore these questions may very well make certain illusions (or games) more “real” – but only leaves one vulnerable to mystery, and its seduction and entrapment. If one is not in charge of an illusion or game, it is left to others to run these for other purposes. In fact, given enough beings remaining ignorant and neglecting responsibility for enough illusions and games, and one finds oneself trapped in what we have come to recognize as a “matrix” [- that which dark forces have long worked to bring about, symbolized by a “hypercube”].

It seems more ideal to be able to enjoy Existence, and at the same time recognize and understand its interactive relationships and transactions, and to be able to enter, play, or leave any of its illusions or games at will. This might be possible if that medium through which we perceive Existence and act upon Existence – the Mind – could be better understood.

All is Mind

Knowledge of Mind is the starting point.

Well, practically speaking; who, what and where one is – right this moment – is the actual starting point. Life is in progress all around. Time waits for no one, and actions, projects and processes are already underway.

Yet in order to bring about as complete an understanding as possible of one’s self – its nature and origins – the best entry point for understanding at the present moment, is the mind.

And where one can develop the ability recognize need for changes and decide to make changes, in one’s own mind, one can assume greater control of one’s mind while coming into greater harmony with Existence – even to greater ability to make improvements to more and more parts of the whole of Existence.

“As Above, So Below “

The Principle of Correspondence teaches what modern science has been discovering using its own processes – that certain patterns are replicated throughout the Universe. Knowing this principle helps one to observe patterns in the Universal Mind of Creation, and thereby find in it correspondences to self.

The more one can perceive and monitor this communication and interaction between the outer Universe and inner self, the more one can:

  • CHANGE THAT WHICH CAN BE CHANGED

and

  • ACCEPT WHAT CANNOT BE CHANGED*

by bringing one’s own mind into harmony with Truth.

[* there are things that cannot be changed without violating the freewill and power of choice of other, independent beings – this is the activity of Evil and its war against Truth – and will be covered in FreePhilosophy under the heading: “Understanding Evil” – but for now, a simple decision you can make and that you must make, in order to truly make it all the way down the Path to Truth, is to never harm or violate the free will of another sentient being. In philosophy-based counseling this, on the level of mind, is known as “Invalidation.” It is also very important that you do not force acceptance of reality or “truth” onto another being, which in philosophy-based counseling is known as “Evaluation.” Outside the confines of a counseling session or counseling relationship however, one should never fear to speak the truth or fail to deliver it directly by any effective means not involving excessive force or coercion.]

TRUTH is WHAT IS

Truth is simply all those things which are coming about in present time – That Which Is – as well as the record of events of every moment of time in the past. The past is faithfully recorded in Mind, and can therefore be accessed as memory as experienced in one’s own mind, or by directly observing the record of the Universal Mind. Going back to observe root causes of present-day effects is known as Processing (from the Trivium – ‘Input-Process-Output”) and is one way to either change those unwanted effects or bring about a state of mind in which change is more readily facilitated.

Science (without metaphysics) tends to limit itself to the study of effects. This tends to limit its view into the invisible, or spiritual. Therefore, where it excludes observation of root causes, it limits its scope of Truth to observation of the material universe where things can be sensed, measured and experienced by the many.

Those who can and do perceive spiritual, root causes however, are limited by language in describing them. Therefore, in order to achieve any degree of certainty for this primal realm of Truth, one must do the arduous work of observation, comparison and recognition of patterns, and take things back to deeper root causes. Teachers and their works can only ever point the way, and you must make these observations for yourself. These are the invisible patterns and natural laws of Existence and Mind.

There is Truth.

Perceiving Cause and Effect

Cause precedes and creates Effect. A knowledge of cause-and-effect relationships comes about through observation. Observation depends on accurate perception and clarity of mind for its value.

Clarity of mind is hindered by unprocessed harmful causes in the past, yet there are techniques available (including Traumatic Incident Reduction) which can process harmful events at root cause, and restore clarity to the mind.

Certain processes – given adequate focus through disciplined meditation or communication-based, “co-processing” – can enhance the order and clarity of mind even further – with or without the use of Traumatic Incident Reduction, although the two in tandem provide a powerful route to mental improvements such as increased observation and discernment.

Where there is unprocessed past trauma; pain, disturbance and disorder can persist. This can block observation, perception and enjoyment of life. This blocks perception of cause, and eventually produces confusion between cause and effect.

The Most Effective Philosophical Model of All

An ancient model taken from an observable pattern of Existence and woven into language itself is:

BE-DO-HAVE

Discoveries in FreeScientology helped by study of the Trivium, uncovered a fourth area, which is actually a variant of DO in its reverse direction from HAVE back to BE, and explains the renewal of Existence in its upward, progressive spiral:

PROCESS

This gives us a full circle from BE-ing through DO-ing and HAVE-ing, back to BE-ing:

BE->DO->HAVE->PROCESS->BE

It is the basis of all other triangles, trinities and tetrahedrons – which are also the physical pattern of the building blocks of the Universe.

As such, this one has proven to be the most basic and valuable philosophical model of all.
