I’m now entirely open to the idea that this is some kind of “simulation.” It certainly no longer feels like the same world that I grew up in, and it would go some way towards explaining the phenomenon known as “The Mandela Effect.”
It also raises further, rather unsettling questions, however. If there really is a Creative Force (“God”) which is loving and benevolent in nature … how could it have allowed its wondrous original creation to have been hijacked and steered off by a lesser, malevolent force?
