The Roots of Peace
For many of us ‘peace’ can feel like a very abstract and vague value. The Hippies stood against war in the 60s and 70s, but they also indulged in incessant drug use and sexual relations. In the popular culture they are now often mocked as irresponsible escapists.
Did the Hippies, with their lack of moral fibre, abort the birth of a potentially very powerful movement? Could it be, that the legacy of these tie-dyed trippy festival goers showing the ‘peace’ sign has made us subconsciously disregard anyone who still talks about peace? Is "peace" a silly idea reserved only for the Hippies from the past?
True Peace cannot be created if we have no credibility, integrity or self sovereignty. We must be able to carry the seeds of Peace with Grace, knowing that the roots of Peace cannot take hold if our inner soil is filled with self sabotage, chaos and conflict.
Peace is the fruit of healing the wounds. Thus we must be able to recognise and abolish the dark practices, violations, and spells of our culture. Anything that systematically creates trauma, spiritual enslavement and chaos in humanity is preventing us from evolving - or perhaps returning - to a compassionate, peaceful and free species.
